West Hunter Street Empowerment, Inc. (WHSE) was formed in early 2024 by volunteers and community leaders. It is a non-profit corporation and shall operate exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including for such purposes, making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

'Empowerment' refers to the process by which people gain control over the factors and decisions that shape their lives.  The business community and dedicated  leaders serving on the WHSE's Board of Directors will lead efforts in providing support and collaborating with other organizations to find solutions that will help build more empowered people and communities.
